Working as a Physiotherapist for past 19 years in various fields has been an exciting journey. The pleasure of seeing relief in my patients face is priceless. At a point of time in life, while working with neurological clients realized some challenges faced by these patients were far more limiting that could not be completely overcome by physiotherapy alone. This led me to look for alternative ideas. And after 12 years of work in this line, I have realized it has been a right choice to use water as a powerful element in making rehabilitation a far more easier and motivating for my patients. At present having my own pool only makes it convenient to deliver this therapy in a far more effective manner. AQUATIC EDUCATION RESOURCES
I love teaching and being in the line of teaching in various positions right from lecturer to associate professor through 19 years, it has only become my second nature to teach.
Education is an important process to transform an individual to a responsible, sensible and knowledgeable individual. In this endeavor, I have let experience be a guide for me. It is also fortunate that I work in a large hospital setup with more than 1000 beds that helped develop my skills as a physiotherapist. Clinical work experience with academic background has helped me to develop my course on Aquatic therapy for practitioners in India and am happy to share it is the only program in India to deliver a content that is clinically and academically oriented. It undergoes constant revision with time and new research findings. we started with a 16 hour program but now it is a 32 hour program including hands on with patients.
I wish to make it grow further to a wonderful program that can incorporate all the techniques of aquatic therapy concepts.

Making Aquatic therapy make its mark in India had its own challenges. one of them was definitely the infrastructure. It was important to convey to practitioners that a therapy pool is different from swimming pool. This led to lot of research and understanding the standards and requirements from a clinical perspective and was completed when we built our pool at our home for starting my practice as an aquatic therapist.
So with a personal experience of building the pool and having visited many pools across India, the knowledge accumulated can be used by anyone wishing to build a therapy pool. So my assistance is available for therapists out there wishing to build a pool.
